So Torrey over at Coderblogs got a EEE.
I'm not jealous of him, really. You can see his personal review here.
On one hand, I'm excited about the new platforms. On the other, I'm starting to really wonder what the point is. An average fully featured laptop can probably be picked up for $200-300. A second hand machine in that price range may have a 2~3G Sempron, would be upgradeable and of course fully featured. You could probably even get a mildly laggy game of Half-Life 2 going.
The normal consumer model doesn't actually apply to the OLPC, though. Purchasing one sponsors a second OLPC to go to a deserving owner.
